We met through mutual friends at a Christmas party in 2015. Unbeknownst to Dan, we had met a few times during our time at Independence High School. Our first date was on Valentines Day in 2016 at Little Sheep Hot Pot (Dan doesn’t like hot pot) and we haven’t looked back since. Dan proposed in November 2019 in the hot springs town of Hakone, Japan. The original plan was to propose to Jenny at the torii gates in Hakone but by the time we arrived at the location; there were too many people waiting in line to take a picture. After making Jenny walk around for another hour or so, Dan found a quiet spot along Lake Ashi to pop the question. When Dan said the words “Will you marry me?”, Jenny thought he was joking and proceeded to laugh in his face while on bended knee. After Jenny realized Dan was serious, she eventually said yes. For those of you who know us, Jenny laughing at Dan (or vice versa) is nothing new. We’re both easy going individuals and are each other’s best friend. Being with each other comes way too easy and we’re always on the same page with one another. The disagreements are minimal and we’re always laughing. Most likely laughing at the expense of one another. We're both looking forward to spending the rest of our lives with one another and are grateful that you all get to experience our journey with us.
