James and Jenny met the non-traditional yet typical millenial way: online dating. Jenny moved to New York from California in 2019 to attend a three-year physician assistant graduate program. It was her first time moving from the West Coast and she wanted to find more ways to meet new people, hence her exploration through Hinge. It was there where she came across James. Their similar humor, taste in music, and values made them instantly connect. They grew closer everyday to the point James would even send her short audio clips of himself singing her favorite songs. Despite Jenny’s nonstop study schedule, James went out of his way to support her, often driving from Jersey City to Queens just to help her with laundry. Jenny's resilience in school eventually motivated James to build a better future for himself and apply to nursing school. To this day, they continue to grow together by allowing themselves to be vulnerable through open, honest communication. They learned that being together has pushed them to become the absolute best version of themselves.
