Jenny and Ricky both worked at YMCA's Camp Quoowant when they were in college. They met at a training during the summer of 2010. Jenny coached sports camp including teaching 5-12 year old campers basketball, volleyball, and more. Ricky worked with the little 4-5 year old boys playing in the woods, doing crafts, and playing the favorite camp game of gaga. When Jenny told Ricky she played basketball, he challenged her to a water-basketball game- oh and let's have dinner before! He surprised her on their first date with a bouquet of orange roses saying I hope this is the first of many dates. The deal of the water-basketball game was that whoever lost had to buy the winner dinner and a movie. Jenny was the champion of the game, but both were winners since this was the start of true love!
Ricky told Jenny that he needed her help filming for a video project using footage of a park. He suggested they film at Brandywine Creek State Park which is where he had asked her to be his girlfriend over seven years before. Ricky was just annoying enough for Jenny not to be suspicuous- he was checking batteries and SD cards. Jenny brought her camera to take some stills. When they got to the spot where he had asked her to be his girlfriend, Jenny started taking pictures of the scenery. She heard Ricky rummaging in his camera bag and assumed he was changing a battery or something. It wasn't until he said "my love" that she turned around and saw him down on one knee with a beautiful aquamarine ring that she realized he was popping the question. Of course she happily said yes!!!
