The story begins March of 2017 on a Saturday night in the popular area of U Street in Washington DC. Rahim and his friends ventured into the popular establishment “Lost Society”. Little did he know, Jenny was also there celebrating the end of her Med School exams. At the lounge, Rahim couldn't help but notice Jenny and worked up the courage to approach her. After introducing themselves to each other, they ended up spending the remainder of the night at the lounge chatting. After talking for hours that night, Rahim asked if he could get her number to take her out on a date. Before she said yes, she asked him to take out his Driver's License so she could verify Rahim was who he said he was. After all you can never be too careful! Once Jenny felt that Rahim checked out (which entailed her messaging every mutual friend they had in common to get the 411), she accepted and four days later they went out on their first date at the Turkish Restaurant known as Lapis in Adams Morgan. The night was full of conversation, and they learned they shared many things in common. From their appreciation for Hip Hop & R&B music, love for 90’s sitcoms, same major/minor in college, similar sense of humor and a common upbringing there was never a dull moment. It goes without saying the date was a success because Jenny agreed to a second date. The more dates they went on the more the more they got to know each other and fell in love. Dates then turned into celebrating birthdays together, which then turned into celebrating anniversaries, to then celebrating their engagement. Since they have been a couple, they have accomplished many things together. Jenny completed Medical school and Residency and is now currently in her second year of Gastroenterology Fellowship. Rahim completed his MBA (while working full time!) and is now in the career field he's always wanted to be in. All these things were made possible through the two of them supporting each other. They have moved to New York City and are incredibly excited to start the next chapter of their lives as Husband and Wife!
