Spring of 2019 and I (Jenny) was living the dream working at Blizzard Beach (a WDW water park). I.C. Expeditions is an ice cream truck inside of Blizzard Beach that is the home of the Sand Pail; an ice cream-lovers dream based on a beach-like atmosphere piled high with soft serve and toppings. Complete with whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry, the monstrous creation is finished off with a yellow shovel - perfection for all your social media needs. Now, as a guest, this is a great experience. But as Cast Member, Sand Pails become the bane of your existence. What begins the day as a sparkling clean costume and magical personality, finishes the day as a sticky sundry resembling the monster from the black lagoon. One particularly warm afternoon, I.C. was being bombarded by the multitudes. Pail after pail, supplies needed refilling and additional sets of hands were a must. My manager called over to EPCOT where (due to the low park numbers) there were some willing and able bodies who arrived not 30 minutes later. Covered in toppings and soft serve, I turned to look at who had come through the door to save us. Standing there in a bright red Epcot costume, Oakley sunglasses, and the handsomest dimpled cheeks I had ever seen was my Peruvian prince. The remainder of the afternoon was filled with more sweetness and sugar than my manager could handle (seeing as how none of it came from the frozen novelties) ....and the rest is happily ever after.
