In August 2025, Michael and I swiped right on Hinge. It was his humor and his love for Jesus that immediately caught my attention. What I didn’t realize at the time was that my Hinge radius was accidentally set to 100 miles. After we started chatting, we discovered, much to our dismay, that we lived 98 miles apart. Not exactly ideal. Luckily, I already had plans to be in Atlanta a couple of weeks later for a concert with friends. Michael offered to take me out for breakfast the next morning, and I figured I had nothing to lose. If it went terribly, I’d never have to see him again! But from the moment we met at Maple Street Biscuit Company, I knew this was something special. Over breakfast, I quickly saw what a true gentleman he was. He was genuine, kind, and deeply rooted in his faith. After that first date, I was telling my best friends that I thought I had met my husband. From then on, Michael made the four-hour round-trip drive between Chattanooga and Atlanta for date nights, hikes, and any excuse to spend time together. It didn’t take long for us to realize that what we’d found was something rare. Five weeks after we met, I was in love. And what felt easy, natural, and right from the beginning has only grown stronger with time. To make our long-distance even longer, I moved to Cincinnati for my final semester of grad school. We made the most of our situation, however, and continued finding ways to see each other on weekends. On one such weekend in January, Michael surprised me by getting down on one knee at the beautiful Krohn Conservatory...and I of course said yes! We are so grateful for the way God brought us together and even more excited for the life we get to build side by side. We can’t wait to celebrate with you this July!
