Question

There's a pandemic happening. Is the wedding still on?

Answer

The wedding happened in our living room on August 29, 2020, the marriage is thriving after a year of isolation, and the celebration is coming in August. We can't wait to party, to hug everyone who will let us, and to all dance our faces off!

Question

Will proof of vaccination be required at the venue?

Answer

Yes indeedy! As of August 17th New York City has rolled out the Key to NYC initiative, requiring proof of vaccination for indoor dining, indoor fitness, and indoor entertainment. Proof of vaccination includes valid photo ID AND one of the following: CDC vaccination card (or a photo), Excelsior Pass, NYC COVID Safe app, or international proof of vaccination that includes your name, date of birth, vaccine product name, date(s) administered, and vaccination site name. This may affect other activities you have planned for the weekend as well; for more information on the Key to NYC policy details: https://www1.nyc.gov/site/doh/covid/covid-19-vaccines-keytonyc.page Further protocols may be added based on changing guidance and city regulations.

Question

Will there be any other COVID protocols at the party?

Answer

You betcha! As of mid-August: All guests over the age of 12 will be vaccinated. Masks are optional, but welcome if they will help you have a good time. [Max + Jenny will likely not be masked.] We'll have physical contact indicators available to avoid those awkward moments - you will be able to easily proclaim your desire for hugs or your need for more distance. The cocktail hour will be indoor/outdoor, weather permitting. The bulk of the reception (dinner & dancing) will be fully indoors. Outdoor space will remain accessible throughout the party.

Question

Where is The Bell House in Brooklyn?

Answer

The Bell House is located in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Gowanus. The closest subway lines are the F/G/R at the 9th Street & 4th Avenue stop. Other nearby neighborhoods include: Park Slope Carroll Gardens Boerum Hill Cobble Hill

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Something festive! You do you, dude...

Question

What footwear is appropriate?

Answer

Whatever you can dance in! But please note that The Bell House does require all attendees to remain shod for the entirety of the event. So if you want to show up in your heels to make an impression and then slip on some Keds that you brought to dance in, go for it! Also to note: The floor at The Bell House is well-loved concrete, so leaving the spike heels at home would be advisable.

Question

Will there be a hora?

Answer

You bet your buttons there will be a hora. What does that mean? We will be celebrating with a traditional Jewish dance in which we all dance in a circle (mostly it's a grapevine, or something simpler if you don't know what that is) and the couple will be hoisted on chairs in the middle of the circle at some point during the dance!
