Our Love Story

First comes school, then comes marriage.

It was a cold January evening and Matt and Jenny were about to attend the first day of their Public Speaking course. If you were to ask Jenny she would say it was fate because she changed from taking the class downtown to the Lawrence campus last minute. They soon became friends. This is what Matt and Jenny love the most about their relationship is that they were friends before they became soul mates. They would go out for coffee multiple times a week along with talking for hours about their dreams and aspirations. Matt and Jenny will tell anyone that they could not have come from polar opposite worlds, but I guess the saying is true that opposites attract. Jenny wears her heart on her sleeve while Matt is much more analytical with his decisions. Some people don't know the story of how Matt and Jenny got engaged. On Jenny's 28th birthday, Matt took Jenny to the mall to do a little shopping before dinner, I would like to preface this with the fact that he hates shopping. Once they arrived to the mall they went into a couple stores and then Matt led Jenny over to Helzberg Diamonds. She asked what they were doing there and he said let's just try on a couple rings. They had talked about marriage before but she didn't know he was ready to propose. When Jenny tried on the first ring her heart skipped a beat. She would continue to try on a few others but they just didn't compare to the first one. The salesmen said "It's the perfect diamond for the perfect woman" Matt rolled his eyes and Jenny smiled. Matt told the salesman to wrap up the ring and they left with it but he told Jenny this was not the proposal. Jenny anxiously awaited his proposal and the day after Matt had ran his first marathon and Jenny had biked a marathon as well after wrecking before mile one she asked to see the ring. Matt went to grab it and then asked Jenny to help him up. When she got in the room he said "Will you make me the happiest man in the world and be my wife." She of course said YES!
