The story began more than ten years ago outside the cafeteria of Central Bucks High School East. Jenny saw Josh talking with a close friend of hers. After Josh left, Jenny approached her friend and asked the name of this mysterious underclassmen. “That’s Josh Bernard, the new starting quarterback,” he replied. The next day Jenny’s friend told Josh she thought he was cute and that he should text her. That night, Jenny received a “Hey” text from a random number, and the relationship quickly took off. In the two years Jenny and Josh shared at CB East, they enjoyed an ideal high school relationship. Jenny, a year older, was accepted to the University of Delaware as Josh began his senior year back at East. This started five years of long distance. Josh was accepted to Johns Hopkins University the following year and so began biweekly 45 mile trips north or south on I-95 between Baltimore and UDel. Their bond grew stronger on weekends together, yet they learned to enjoy their own college lives in the time they spent apart. They enjoyed the highest of highs and lowest of lows, but distance truly made each heart grow fonder. Fast forward through graduations, new jobs, a move from Doylestown to Philadelphia, and the start of graduate and medical school, Jenny and Josh found true happiness finally together under one roof. One weekend in October 2017, Jenny was shocked (like really shocked…see video) to walk into their apartment adorned with roses, candles, and her future fiancée unable to stop smiling at her. She said yes! After nearly three years engaged by August 14, 2020, Jenny and Josh have never been more excited to become husband and wife.
