A few of our favorite places worth checking out! -Belle Isle: The Conservatory and koi pond are a plant lover's dream and the world's oldest aquarium still open in the nation sits next door! (State Park permit allows you entrance or park passes are available to purchase at the gate) -Detroit Riverfront: Voted #1 riverfront three years in row by USA Today! Wave hi to our Canadian neighbors across the water! -Campus Martius Park: Everyone associates Detroit with 8 Mile but did you know that this is where it all began? In 1808, Augustus Woodward placed the city's point of origin, 0 miles, right here at Campus Martius! (Fun fact: About 100 years later, Woodward Ave became the first paved road in America!) -Greektown: Occupied by Greek immigrants in the late 19th century, this short street on Monroe Ave between Brush and St. Antoine is the place to go if you're looking for Greek cuisine! Opa!
Want to get away downtown? Take the Q-line up Woodward and check out midtown just a few miles north. Home to Wayne State University, where Jenny graduated, and The Detroit Institute of Arts (Diego Rivera's Detroit Industry Mural is a must-see!) Midtown also houses local shops like City Bird and more casual dining options.
