Folly Beach
Folly Beach is a city on Folly Island, in South Carolina, just south of Charleston. It’s home to Folly Beach Pier, stretching more than 1,000 feet into the ocean. Center Street is lined with surf and souvenir shops. Folly Beach County Park has picnic areas and a pelican rookery. As well as beaches and wildlife-rich habitats, Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve has views of Morris Island Lighthouse, completed in 1876.
The Charleston Pour House
A great local venue for live music and the location of Jenny and Joe's first date! Double check the schedule on their website but it appears that the band Boombox will be performing that Saturday night.
The Battery
Located at the very tip of the Charleston Peninsula, this is a great spot to take a walk and admire the oaks, harbor and historic homes. This park is also where she said yes!
Sunday Brunch Farmers Market
A great farmer's market located in the parking lot behind the Charleston Pour House, every Sunday from 11am-3pm. Expect local produce, wares, food trucks and music on the deck!
Charleston Aquarium
Very nice aquarium right on the harbor in Downtown Charleston. Fun Fact: Joe's uncle is a volunteer diver here!
The Gin Joint
A cozy spot in the French Quarter for classic cocktails! Pro-tip: if you can't decide on a libation, go for the "Bartender's Choice"...
167 Raw Oyster Bar
Seriously the best oysters in town. Love oysters? Go here. Not sure if you love oysters yet? Go here to find out that you do! Just make sure you get reservations ahead of time.
Bowens Island
For fried seafood, steamed local oysters and Low County Boil check out the restaurant at Bowen's Island. It's on the right side of the road on the way out to Folly Beach and can be easy to miss! Be sure to get there right at 5 and grab a spot outside on the deck for great sunset views of the marsh. Dress casual. If you are interested in getting out on the water, go during the day to rent a kayak and spend a few hours meandering the marsh. Be sure to check the tides!
The Rooftop at the Vendue
If the weather is nice, check out this rooftop bar with views of the Harbor, the Ravenel Bridge and Downtown. Located on East Bay Street in the French Quarter.
