We met on the dating app Hinge, where a few messages about the Reds and Jeopardy! quickly turned into an invitation from Jake: trivia night at West Side Brewing. Over pizza, beer (cider for Jenny, of course), and a lot of laughter, we discovered how easy it was to be around each other. We even planned a date to the Newport Aquarium… which still hasn’t happened—but a second date did, then a third, and soon we were both completely smitten. Over the year that followed, we went to countless Reds games, weddings, and two PGA events, explored Cincinnati and the Bourbon Trail, and even survived losing both our phones on Jake’s first international trip—a cruise to Haiti. (We can laugh about it now.) Jenny learned to love hockey and tolerate the Buckeyes, while Jake fell instantly for Sherlock (Jenny’s cat) and tolerates volleyball season in return. Exactly 64 weeks after that first trivia night, we went back to West Side Brewing for another winning round, and Jake proposed during a walk in the park across the street. Jenny said yes.
