Our Home! German Village is a great place to wander, enjoy coffee or a treat from one of the MANY great bakeries and cafes, grab a bite/drink, and explore independent shops. (See more of our favorite spots in the listings below!)
A classic diner-style café, open since 1981, and serving basic-but-delicious breakfast food.
Despite it's name, this is NOT a cafe ... but instead a super-laidback bar and restaurant that has the best burgers in Columbus (Evan's opinion!).
Your spot for fancy pastries. Made entirely on-site, PV crafts 60+ treats — from insane (good) almond croissants to éclairs to their signature macarons.
Award-winning coffee roasted by some of the best people we know! This incredible cafe is located in Grandview — just a few miles NW of Downtown Columbus — but is worth the visit. Be sure to check out their most recent menu — it's always changing, and there's always something exciting to try.
If you're looking for vegetarian food or a quick bite for lunch (why not both!?), Brassica is one of our go-to spots. The elevated fast-casual spot has a few locations, including this one in the Short North and one in Upper Arlington — not far from the OSU vs. OU festivities.
This adorable French-style bistro is a great spot for Saturday brunch or cocktails/dinner! It's a little pricier than the other spots on our list, but the vibes are impeccable.
If Buckeye football ISN'T your thing and you'd rather spend the day chilling in (AC'd) nature, check out Franklin Park, located a couple miles east of Downtown Columbus. Bonus: FPC owns the largest private collection of Dale Chihuly artwork in the U.S. and they're having their monthly Chihuly Night on Saturday, 9/13. (Tix required!)
Looking for something to do on Sunday after the festivities? It's free admission day at the museum. :)
