Things To Do

Austin is a wonderful place to live and visit. We are excited to show y'all the place we call home. Whether you're looking for a foodie experience or want to enjoy the outdoors, there's something for everyone.

Idle Hands

85 Rainey Street, Austin, TX 78701
, (361) 268-1221

This is one of the bars that Matt owns. Start a fun night on Rainey Street by grabbing a tropical cocktail and people watching on the front patio. Jenny's favorite is the Rosa Mexicano and Matt's pick is the Idle Paloma.

Parlor and Yard

601 West 6th Street, Austin, TX 78701
, (512) 524-0466

Parlor and Yard is another bar that Matt owns. Situated on West 6th, you'll be close to lots of nightlife and the hustle of downtown. Jenny recommends The Yard and Matt recommends The Crash Kit.

The Beer Plant

3110 Windsor Road, Austin, TX 78703
, (512) 524-1800

This is a plant-based gastropub and it's also where we went on our first date!

Uchiko

4200 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, TX 78756
, (512) 916-4808

Unfortunately for our wallets, Uchiko is very close to our home. It's the most phenomenal sushi you'll eat. Make a reservation to partake in an Austin staple.

Red Ash

303 Colorado Street, Austin, TX 78701
, (512) 379-2906

Red Ash Italia is one of our favorite restaurants. Make sure you make reservations as this spot is very popular.

Aba Austin

1011 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704
, (737) 273-0199

Aba has a beautiful patio space that you can enjoy during the lovely March temps. Make a reservation as soon as you can—this place books up far in advance.

Michi Ramen

6519 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, TX 78752
, (512) 386-1908

Franklin Barbecue

900 East 11th Street, Austin, TX 78702
, (512) 653-1187

South Congress

Austin, TX

South Congress is famous for its food and shopping. Check out Music Lane for pretty much any store that's been advertised to you on Instagram, like Reformation, Parachute, and Allbirds. There are also plenty of great restaurants in this area (Aba is one of our favorites) that would make for a full afternoon of activities. A little further south on this stretch, you can check out Maufrais to invest in a custom fitted hat.

The Domain

11410 Century Oaks Terrace, Austin, TX 78758
, (512) 795-4230

Forget a clutch or your pocket square? The Domain is an outdoor mall that has plenty of stores to suit all your needs from J.Crew to Neiman Marcus. There are also many great restaurants like Culinary Dropout and Jinya Ramen. You can also check out Barton Square Mall, which is a traditional mall south of the city center.

Lady Bird Lake

Austin, TX

Right in the heart of downtown, you can beat the heat by paddle boarding, kayaking, or taking a small retro boat around Lady Bird Lake.

Pedernales Falls State Park

2585 Park Road 6026, Johnson City, TX 78636
, (830) 868-7304

Austin is close to many fantastic state parks. Pedernales has some great hikes and spots to take a dip in the water.

Hill of Life

1710 Camp Craft Road, Austin, TX 78746

The Greenbelt offers many hiking and swimming spots that attracts many Austinites throughout the year. The Hill of Life is a nice, challenging hike that rewards you with cool dip in the water at the base. You can also check out several other spots on the Greenbelt for hikes of different levels of difficulty.
