We’re getting married!

Him: Pull up. Her: Bet. Kidding! They went to high school together but Tyler was two classes ahead of Jenn. They never spoke but had crushes on each other. They both moved away to do their own things and returned years later. In 2015, Jenn started working at Columbia Girls Secure facility. Tyler messaged her on Snapchat to say he had a cousin that worked at Brookwood Secure Facility (next door) and that he wanted to work there too. Afterward, Jenn and Tyler would snap back and forth here and there about things like self improvement and traveling but would always keep things friendly. Finally, in July 2016, Jenn told Tyler she liked his lips and Tyler asked her to FaceTime him. They stayed on FaceTime for 3.5 hours the first time they talked. Jenn was traveling back and forth from Albany to the Bronx and would drive through Hudson often to get there. She told Tyler she would be passing through and he told her to come see him. She did…and came back the next night…and then never left. 😂 Tyler asked Jenn to be his girlfriend on July 23, 2016.

Tyler proposed on their 4th anniversary. After getting pedicures they had some confusion about where to eat. Jenn was starving and told Tyler to just grab subs from their favorite deli. They headed to Buckingham Pond Park where Tyler made his own parking space in front of the pond. They ate and talked for a while. Jenn could tell something was off about him but tried to pay it no mind. Once Jenn finished eating, Tyler played the song Cannonball - Kiesza from the movie Home. (It was their theme song during their first year of dating.) As “I keep falling” was blasting in the background, Tyler got out of the car and opened Jenn’s door. Then he asked her to sing with him. (She’d forgotten most of the words and panicked.) He started dancing and told her to dance with him. But instantly after he goes “ow, my knee!” (If you know Tyler, his acting skills are questionable.) Then he yells, “get my knee brace!” as he’s pointing to the glove compartment. (Tyler does not and has never worn a knee brace.) So at this point, Jenn’s thinking it better be a ring! She opened the glove compartment and found an off white box with brown ribbon. When she turns to give it to him, he gets down on one knee and asks “Jennifer Curtin, will you marry me?” Jenn asks, “oh my God, babe really?” Tyler just keeps looking at her like please say something! She said, “Yes, yes! Give me!” He finally gets up and slid the ring on her finger. They spent the rest of the day staring at her hand while Jenn said “oh my God babe, we’re really engaged!” They went home to get ready for massages at Spa Mirabeau.
