FAQs

Question

How handicap accessible is the resort?

Answer

While the resort is relatively accessible, fair mobility is essential. The ceremony and reception venue are only accessible by way of stairs and the ceremony will require walking through sand and other uneven terrain. Puerto Vallarta is historic, and they are known for their beautiful but very old and uneven cobblestone streets and walkways, including in the areas around the resort and hotel. The hotel rooms are in towers so stairs are sometimes necessary during times of elevator maintenance.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests?

Answer

Yes! Please see the travel page on our website for details of our hotel block.

Question

When should I book my room?

Answer

Rooms can and should be booked through the room block ASAP. By booking the room and placing a valid credit card on file, you are reserving your discounted room. You will not be charged until roughly 45 days prior to your selected check in date. At any time between now and the date you are charged you may edit your dates of stay or cancel your room entirely, with no fees or penalty whatsoever. Please note that you will not be considered fully RSVP'd until your room has also been booked.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, we are happy to accommodate most food allergies and dietary restrictions! Please list your allergies when you RSVP.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! Please see the schedule page on our website for the list of events.

Question

Should I bring cash?

Answer

You do not need to, but it is highly advised to bring some amount of US dollars in a variety of denominations. While it is all inclusive, the hotel and waitstaff are very appreciative of the occasional tip, even just a dollar here and there. There are also certain taxis that insist upon cash payments, and vendors who offer steep discounts for cash such as for jet ski rentals on the beach. There is an ATM on site which WILL CHARGE YOU $30 in processing and exchange fees. (My debit account refunds me ATM fees but the way they charge this avoids this and you will be stuck paying it in full)

Question

Is the area safe?

Answer

The city of Puerto Vallarta is considered one of the top 5 safest cities in Mexico, with most lists placing it well above traditional tourist zones like Cozumel, Tulum, and Cancun. We spent some time on our preview trip walking the streets of downtown at night, and visiting rural areas far outside of tourist areas and felt very safe. The hotel itself is not only fully gated and secure, but it has one of the only fully private beaches in the area. By law, all Mexican beaches are public. However, the Ziva is bordered on both sides by extended sheer cliffs making it impossible to access the beach on foot, and the swim area ropes prevent it's access by boat aside from the hotel approved jet ski and fishing vendors.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love all of your children, due to the limitations set by the venue, only children listed on the invitation may attend the wedding. If you have a child less than two years of age that you need to bring, please reach out to the bride and groom.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

To ensure we can accommodate all our beloved guests, only those explicitly named on your invitation are included. Thank you for understanding!

Question

What if I cannot make it to the wedding?

Answer

While we will be sad to miss you, we completely understand that life happens, and not everyone will be able to attend. A destination wedding is a major undertaking in many ways. Whether you intend to RSVP no, or committed to your stay but need to back out due to unforeseen circumstances we only ask one thing: Please let us know as soon as you can. Due to venue restrictions we are extremely limited on our allowed guest number, and we have dozens of immediate family members and lifelong friends who we simply do not have space for. So if for any reason you are unable to attend, we would deeply value the opportunity to extend the vacancy to another loved one.

Question

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?

Answer

For any questions or concerns, please feel free to text the bride or groom.
