As I would always say, "We met online ;) On Teams specifically" haha! We met at work and Jen always found me too serious and dry and would dread having to talk to me on teams. I don't fault her, I was in a professional environment, I was trying my best not to be reported to my manager or HR! I ain't trying to show everyone my true colors at work, that's reserved for the people outside in the wilderness. All jokes aside, we started talking outside of work in the beginning of 2021. Jen's personality and curiosity is what drew me to her. Random questions like "do you like fried pickles?" or "do you like socks?" were what I found so funny and adorable about her. (Who asks if I like fried pickles?!?! in LA too?! haha!). We would talk every night about whatever came into mind, and the more we got to know each other, the more I got to know how beautiful of a person Jen was (and still is) inside and out. It was so easy to fall in love with her. I still reminisce and look back to those late nights on the phone with her since she never slept, so I would always try to stay up so I can keep talking to her. Great times. :) We're both truly blessed to have each other. She's the perfect person for me. I have found my food buddy, my travel partner, my rap star, my everything, and the one who would protect my heart forever. Olive juice, bb. :)
Yep! We met at work! Dr. Shin if you’re reading this, you have now figured out how my magic always works lol. Yesss! Haha I asked all the important questions! 🤪 After a couple months of interrogating Nicole, we went on our first date. I talked and talked and talked some more. She said a few things here and there but mostly stared at me haha! Things went really good! I even got a 2nd date before our date ended 🤗 After several weeks , a few more questions , and an evening date at our favorite pizza place. We are sitting in her car listening to music (one of our favorite things )and Nicole asked me to be her gf! Wahoo! Except, I was nervous because I had a few more questions!!! Hahaha jk! Then, guess who was the 1st one to say “I love you”? That would be me! 🙊 Our relationship took me by surprise but this has been the sweetest love I have ever known. Nicole, has the purest soul I have ever met. She is the most caring and loving person. I am unbelievably blessed and honored to have you as a partner! I’m so excited to start our life together! 🥹❤️ I love you so much!
On Jen's 30th birthday, we drove up to the mountains to celebrate. It was just Jen, Noey, and I and we were just going to celebrate in a cozy house surrounded by snow while we watch an episode of "The Challenge" and later on a 49ers game. A year before, I had promised Jen to gift her a short performance of BTS' "boy with luv" for her 29th birthday, but never fulfilled that promise. So instead, for her 30th birthday, I came up with a short choreography to "Tennessee Whiskey" and gave her the performance of a lifetime. The plan was, after going through my 10 second choreography, I would ask her to dance with me and then propose while we dance with the manly husky voice of Chris Stapleton serenading us in the background. Well, spotify (and jen) had different plans that night. I had prepared a playlist ready to play with sweet songs that remind us of each other. I knew I wasn't going to be able to propose during "Tennessee Whiskey", so I came in prepared! After "Tennessee Whiskey" had finished playing, there I was, waiting for "Let's get married" by William Singe to play. I was ready to start my sweet speech as and declare my love to Jen, get on one knee, and ask her to marry me, when all of a sudden "Shortie Like Mine" by Bow Wow starts playing. "Wow... Hell nah, babe!" is all I said while I run to the phone to switch the song while Jen was vibing and dancing. "Only thing that keeps me up, when I'm feeling down.." - it will forever haunt me. Turns out, Jen had queued a few songs on Spotify during our drive, and I didn't clear the queue so her songs were playing before my playlist. Of course something like this will happen to us. haha! After switching back to Chris, I was finally able to go on with the proposal and the rest is history. :)
