Join us for a Hike

10:30 am - 2:00 pm

What to bring: A small backpack, water, snacks & sunscreen, hiking shoes - sneakers work great! Shorts and short sleeve shirt with a light jacket or long sleeve (this is up high so around 20 degrees cooler than Salt lake city temps) I will also have bug spray and sunscreen to share! We will bring a few extra backpacks and some hiking poles to share

Meet at the Alta Ski Resort Parking lot at 10:30am (Parking is free) There are public restrooms and picnic tables https://maps.app.goo.gl/iuCj9rzLc5g2nvSz6 From here there is 4.5 mile round trip hike to Cecret lake https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/utah/cecret-lake-from-albion-basin If you would like to shorten the hike you can cut off the first part by driving farther up Albion Basin Road - this is a dirt road https://maps.app.goo.gl/9bPSmCeA3LUZyJfJ7 There is a parking lot with a $12 per fee (Cecret lake trailhead parking) There are picnic tables in the shade and the Alta store (open 11am-5pm) where you can buy snacks and drinks. There are also pit toilets here From here it is a 1.8 mile round trip hike with 500 feet of elevation gain to Cecret Lake. https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/utah/cecret-lake-trail If you don’t want to hike at all you can also drive down to Snowbird and take a scenic tram ride. https://www.snowbird.com/summer-activities/tram/

Summer picnic attire - very casual - the ground is gravel/dirt/grass - bring a light jacket or long sleeve for later in the evening when the temperatures can be 20 degrees cooler than Salt Lake City

Join the Sorenson & Nissenbaum families to celebrate Jenny & Wade with a welcome get together. Beverages and Dinner will be provided Menu: Summer BBQ - gluten free and vegetarian options will be provided
