Ulysses and Jen met in 2017 at a formal one night. Coincidentally, as the two youngest people at the dinner table that evening, they were seated next to each other. They had small talk conversation, but as it was a formal Jennifer danced the night away with her sister and friends. Before the night’s end, Jennifer asked the noticeably quiet brother Ulysses if he would like to dance with her and her friends. His reply: NO. Fast forward a couple years, Ulysses claims he had been observing/noticing Jennifer at different gatherings and events. But if you ask Jennifer if she noticed him, her answer is: No. She was “living her best life” as a young woman would, focused on her ministry/preaching, traveling, and working hard. She prayed to reach her goals before she even thought of seriously dating someone. So how did they come together? Simple, a little birdie tweeted in her and his ear. This birdie noticed how inquisitive Ulysses was of her, the birdie answered all his questions; stated she is a good spiritual girl, from a good background, and extremely focused on spiritual goals and many guys could not match up. The birdie told Jen about Ulysses; stated he was shy, very smart, mature, spiritual and all around a great guy that would take care of her. Jen started to notice Ulysses more and more. On a beach trip one day as they were saying their goodbyes, Jen said to Ulysses “you should keep in touch” and yes she took his phone and put her number in it. They continued to talk and confessed their mutual feelings to each other and shortly after they became exclusive. Fast forward through an entire global pandemic later, the couple continued to stick by each other through the very thick parts of life. They always knew they were each other’s persons, but on April 10, 2021 Ulysses gathered their closest family and friends and proposed to her in a lovely park with the cherry blossom trees in full bloom.
