We're Celebrating 25 Years with a Prom Themed "Vow-Renewal"!

While our wedding 25 years ago was beautiful, Jenn, the dreamer, has always wanted a sort of "re-do" if you will. A day that focused much more on the celebration and less so on traditions of a conventional wedding. We've been planning to do something special for our 25th anniversary for nearly as long. We knew we didn't want or need a traditional vow renewal as the promises we made the first time around hold truer than ever. But we wanted to do something big. When a cousin's bride surprised him with a prom for a birthday party we knew that was what we wanted to do - only BIGGER! Enter, our Prom-iversary party. More than a simple party, sort of like a wedding in the level of care given to the details like the dress, venue, food, music and photographer. What's missing? The whole sit around and watch us pledge our undying love, sitting around and wait for us to spend hours being photographed. Essentially, the sitting around part is out. What's left? The gown, the rings, the food, the dancing, the LOVE! It's a bit tricky to fully describe. But it's like a wedding without the ceremony and like a party with a bit of ceremony. Please join us to discover what a Prom-iversary Party is all about. Since so many of you are traveling from out of town, and state, we want to take advantage of the weekend to gather, reconnect, celebrate and soak up as much time together as possible. Starting Friday, we will host a casual welcome dinner at our home (think rehearsal dinner but all the guests are invited). Saturday morning and afternoon will be all yours to explore the beauty that is western Washington as we get the venue and ourselves ready for the party. Saturday night is the main event, the BIG DAY, and all about the Prom. Pull out your BEST prom looks from any decade and have fun or just dress up like you would if you were attending a summer garden wedding. No matter what, bring those dancing shoes, and join us as we celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in a BIG way! We even have some after-party shenanigans to get into for those who are game. We'll wrap up the weekend with a leisurely afternoon float down the beautiful Skagit River complete with picnic lunch on Sunday. ALL the details can be found throughout this website.
