We had met on a dating app (millenials, am I right?) and had an instant connection over our taste in music. After a few weeks of texting, we decided to have our first date at Mishka's Cafe in Davis. We had some coffee, listened to music, got some Indian food, and even went to Target! The date went on for 7 hours, and I was falling head over heels for him! On December 2nd, Thirsten asked me to be his girlfriend after he had dropped me off at my house. Since then, we have been in a long distance relationship. Although it has been rough at times, we both knew the wait was worth it!
For our one year 'first date' anniversary, we wanted to go back to Mishka's Cafe to recreate the date. As we were walking on over to the coffee shop, I noticed Thirsten was acting a bit strange. Once we had reached the spot, Thirsten grabbed my hands and began telling me some sweet words (which I can't recall from all the emotion) and to my surprise, he went down on one knee and popped the question! (Of course, I said YES). It was extra special to have my soon to be mother-, father-, and brother-in-law witness the proposal as well! It is so meaningful to us to share this special day with our most cherished friends and family. We sincerely hope we will have the honor to dine, laugh, and dance with you on our wedding day. It would mean the world to us.
