Jenn and Tchad met in 2006, when two of their good friends started dating, and they remained friends for three years before their first date. Their first date was high-end at the luxurious (not) White Chocolate Grille at the Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree, Colorado. Jenn was very tender, still recovering from a recent surgery, and surprisingly nervous before the date. Tchad calmed her nerves with humor and kindness, they just clicked right away. After dinner, Tchad asked if Jenn could help him find baby gifts for the first child (Zoe) of Best Man (Philip Alphonse) and his wife (Rene.) Jenn found it endearing that Tchad had no idea that baby clothes didn't come in one-size-fits-all. Together they found a great gift - a luxurious baby blanket, which Jenn convinced him was worth the price and would be loved by Zoe. Tchad drove Jenn home and, before she got out of the car, shared that he was interested in more than a friendship and, well....the rest is history.
Tchad hid the ring for two months before the proposal - waiting for the right moment and location. He snuck away on weekends to scout locations and decided on the Botanical Gardens in Pasadena. The plan was to convince Jenn that they should get professional photos taken by Jonathan Davino for work purposes. After a wardrobe change and great shots, they would casually arrive at the ideal location where the proposal would happen. The plan was short-lived when Jenn, Tchad and Jonathan were stopped at the entrance by the security and told no photo shoots were permitted. Tchad waited until Jenn and Jonathan walked away to explain to the security guard that the photo shoot was a cover for a surprise engagement. When Tchad showed him the ring - he was on board with the plan and let them in a few minutes later. After an hour of getting great photos, Tchad let Jonathan in on the plan and they both started preparing for the big moment. They moved to the arch bridge and koi fish ponds by the Japanese Gardens. As Jenn's attention was focused on a uniquely large koi fish, Jonathan began setting up for the shot and Tchad took the opportunity to sneak away to retrieve the ring from its hiding place - in his duffle bag. By the time Jenn turned around to figure out why she was the only one interested in the koi fish - Tchad was proposing. On one knee, with the ring on display, stating his love and asking Jenn for her hand in marriage. Jenn said yes to the applause of onlookers who were quietly, and respectfully, taking in the moment with the new couple.
