This is a calm beach town away from the busyness of Myrtle Beach. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and lots of little shops.
Pawleys Beach Access
If you stay at a resort that doesn't have beach access, this website shows the public beach access for Pawleys Island.
Garden City
This is a public access beach and a pier for sightseeing or fishing.
Huntington Beach State Park
This is a state park with a beach. See the website to see the fees for entrance.
Brookgreen Gardens
Just across 17 from Huntington Beach Park, largest sculpture garden in the world, and nature gardens; Pontoon boat river tours and special seasonal activities. TripAdvisor lists Brookgreen Gardens as one of the Top 10 public gardens in the US.
Hobcaw Barony
Old Barnard Baruch estate/plantation, now Belle Baruch naturalist center. Tours of the old estate, and preservation areas.
