It was a chilly fall evening in downtown Houston when our paths first crossed, amidst the bustling streets and vibrant nightlife. We were both part of a mutual friend group that occasionally gathered together to meet up and dine out. I didn't think much of it at first but I remember a short guy staring across the room, and didn't hesitate to walk up to me and introduce himself to me in the midst of our group. You seemed kind hearted, and there was a warmth about you that drew people in effortlessly. It wasn't long before our conversations began to extend beyond the group banter. We discovered shared interests in music, movies, and a similar sense of humor. Our friendship grew into something more as we began spending more time together outside of our group gatherings. From trying out new restaurants to attending concerts and exploring new places together, every moment felt like an adventure. It became clear to both of us that we shared a deep connection and a bond that was worth exploring further.
One Saturday afternoon, we drove out to Houston's Hermann Park to spend time together in the Japanese Garden. We walked along the winding pathways, watched the koi fish in the pond swim, and listened to the peaceful sounds of the waterfalls. When we got to the bridge over the pond, Selvin got on one knee and asked, "Jenn will you marry me?" I excitedly said "Yes" We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with family and friends. See you in Brookshire, Tx!
