Our story started when we both went to a game night with friends on a warm summer night in July 2022. There were less than ten people there and we quickly introduced ourselves to each other. Sammy had come with a mutual friend of ours. As a group we had a night full of laughing, fun, and competition while playing the board game Cover Your Assets. I was unaware I had caught Sammy's eye and in his words; it was due to my humor, attractiveness and wit that night. Sammy recalls that he was intrigued to know more. He reached out to our mutual friend the next day asking more about myself. In that conversation he asked our friend to reach out to me and see if I'd feel comfortable letting her give him my number. I had some hesitations, unsure if I was in a place to want to date at that time. I decided I too wanted to know more about the guy I'd met at game night and gave the okay for her to give my number to Sammy. We started texting that day and quickly vibed with one another. I suggested we get together for a casual meal soon, with the willingness to see if a friendship developed. We enjoyed chips and queso at Cheddar's restaurant within a few days of texting and the rest is history! I was quickly drawn to Sammy's kindness, thoughtfulness, and great sense of humor. We quickly saw that we were two peas in a pod in several ways and started spending more and more time together. We enjoyed tackling simple daily activities together like hitting the gym and running to the grocery store afterwards, meals out, and time with mutual friends. Spending time together was easy, comfortable, and included lots of laughs! After a few months of spending time together, attraction grew and I decided I was ready to commit to a relationship with Sammy. After some time Sammy moved in with me, where we shared a home and our bond and closeness grew stronger. We knew we had found something special in one another. We supported each other in the ups and downs, had fun together, and shared some common interests and goals. Sammy proposed when we were celebrating our one-year dating anniversary in September 2023. We had a romantic dinner in downtown Tulsa at a restaurant named Mr. Kim's Asian Steakhouse and a night planned for a stay away from home at River Spirit Casino. After dinner Sammy suggested we walk to The Center of The Universe with it being only a few blocks away, and since he'd never been. I was tired and asked if he'd be okay if instead we went back to our room to relax and start enjoying the amenities of the hotel. When we got back to our room we decided to get ready to head to the pool. I came out of the restroom after changing into my swimsuit to see Sammy standing there wanting to speak with me. He surprised me and popped the question. I quickly said yes to the wonderful man in front of me and both of us were so excited! Later I learned he had wanted to go to The Center of the Universe for a romantic & unique setting for the proposal. By the time we made it to our room he had already mentally built up the courage to bypass his nerves and propose. He decided our hotel suite was as good of a place as any, since plan A didn't go accordingly. To this day we still laugh about that. We both believe it happened just as it was meant to. Fast forward a bit more and our wedding day is just around the corner!! We've shared what feels like quite a bit of life together in a short time and the love we have for each other continues to grow deeper. We feel so grateful & blessed to have found one another and are ready for this next chapter in our lives! We're excited to start that journey with our loved ones this May!
