Where do I park?
Answer
The Aviary has a free on-site parking lot located down the brick driveway at the corner of Arch Street. You can also search "Aviary Parking Lot" on Google Maps. There is also paid street parking on nearby streets. We encourage guests to use Uber/Lyft, or make a plan to have a designated driver!

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Answer
The ceremony will begin at 5:30pm. Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the ceremony to allow time for parking and finding your seat. The Pittsburgh Marathon occurs the same weekend with road closures beginning on Friday afternoon. Please allow enough time to plan accordingly. Is there a dress code?
Answer
We’d love to see our family and friends dress to impress in your best formal attire. Bright springtime colors and florals are strongly encouraged. Women are recommended to wear dresses below the knee or dress pants. Men are encouraged to wear a collared shirt with a tie/bow tie and jacket. Tuxedos are welcomed but not required. Please no jeans/denim and avoid shades of white/cream. The ceremony is outside, weather permitting.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Answer
We plan to have the ceremony outdoors. If it rains, it will take place inside the National Aviary. The remainder of the evening will be indoors. Cocktail hour will be indoors. Guests can use this time to visit with the birds inside the Aviary. Alcohol and food is prohibited inside the exhibits. The reception will also be indoors, but guests will have the opportunity to enjoy some lawn games outside where the ceremony was held.

Can I bring a date/guest?
Answer
Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guest formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP.

Are kids welcome?
Answer
Wedding invitations will be specific and will include the names of children who are invited. We encourage you to use this evening as a “night out” for yourself!

Can I visit the birds at the Aviary?
Answer
Yes! All guests have the opportunity to visit the bird habitats from 6:00-7:30pm during cocktail hour. There will also be a photo opportunity with a penguin from 6:20-6:50pm.

When should I RSVP by?
Answer
Visit the RSVP tab on our website to RSVP. Please RSVP by March 21st. If you do not, then you will be automatically marked as NOT attending and be dearly missed. If you have any difficulties, please feel free to text or call Jennie 440-724-1720
Question
Do you have any hotel recommendations?
Answer
We recommend staying at The Westin Hotel downtown on Penn Ave. Visit the travel page on our website to book a room at a discounted rate before April 1st. The Pittsburgh Marathon takes place on the same weekend as our wedding. We recommend booking hotels far in advance to prevent any possible complications.
