Initially, Jen and Payam were going to be married in November in Cancun, Mexico, surrounded by family and close friends. However, coronavirus has changed everything. International travel is not recommended and many people are hesitant attend large gatherings. Therefore, Jen and Payam cancelled their Cancun wedding and opted to be married here in town, in October. (Special thanks to Dr. Norris for giving Dr. Kaplan the day off so she can attend her own wedding!) The changes resulting from coronavirus affected their plans tremendously. Ultimately, they have invited family and a small group of close friends to their wedding, keeping the party under 20 people. In addition, the idea of a bridal shower, not to mention a bachelorette party, seemed out of reach for Jen. Some of Jen's closest workmates decided to throw her a combined bridal shower/bachelorette party, scheduled for Sept. 19th. Jen and Payam chose not to create a bridal or wedding registry. This website AND registry were created by Amanda McDowell. So please forgive any errors/omissions because this was created in love. The point of this website and registry is to celebrate Jen Kaplan and Payam Nazem in any way that we can. Many people have asked how they can contribute. Although there are no specified gifts, feel free to get creative and purchase something. They are into fitness, gastronomy, travel and they have a cat. Maybe they will upgrade from their apartment to a house - so home goods would be welcomed. If you would like to give to the "honeymoon fund," please know they are spending their honeymoon in Cancun, where they were initially getting married. Unfortunately, not everything was refundable so they are going to enjoy it on their own. However, the "honeymoon fund" is a cash gift for them, which they receive in full on their wedding day.
