I met Noah at the University of Mobile during our sophomore year. I was undecided on my major and was testing out an education class that Noah happened to also be in. He was contemplating being a math teacher. I remember him sitting two rows away from me to the right and hearing this polite, southern guy answer the teacher's questions. I had decided before sophomore year that I was done looking for a guy and focus on the Lord and my studies. Little did I know, the Lord had someone in His plan for me to come along my path. I remember hearing the professor say "Mr. Whittington" all the time. I noticed Noah waiting for me after class because it always took me a long time to gather my things. He waited for me and walked me to my car each day we had class. I was thinking "is this guy just trying to be a friend or something more?" One day he messaged me on Facebook and asked if i would go to this midnight premier of the new Thor movie with school. I was not feeling it that evening but gave him my phone number and told him we should go another time. And the rest is history! We went on our first date I believe November 2nd, and we sat and talked in Zaxby's for 3 hours. We've shared many laughs, cries, joyful, and tough moments and I can't wait to share all those moments and more with my best friend for the rest of my life. I love you, Noah Whittington and I can't wait to be Mrs. Whittington and live our lives glorifying God in all that we do.
Jenn's Perspective: August 6, 2020, best day of my thus far. We were going to school to have my sister, Danielle, take Noah's graduation pictures. I was so excited to take these pictures with him because I've always thought it would be neat to have pictures in our cap and gown where we first met. Little did I know, Noah had other plans for the evening. We all met at UM and began taking pictures. Noah suggested walking down to the front drive of campus where the trees overhang the road with Weaver Hall in the background. It's a beautiful view. He took off his cap and gown and we walked down. Took a couple photos in the street and suddenly Noah turned to me and grabbed my hands and said, "Okay, this isn't just graduation photos. You know how much I love you right?" And I immediately started smiling and said "No way, is this real?!" over and over again. He then got down on one knee and I lost it. I started squealing, laughing, and crying all at the same time as he opened that beautiful sparkly box. Noah asked me to marry him, and of course I said yes! We were both over the moon excited. Noah had a special engagement party for us waiting at his apartment with my best friends and both of our families. August 6, 2020 was one of the best days of my life, until May 8, 2021. Noah's Perspective: Once we both got out of college and started working, we could tell we were ready to get engaged. Jennifer indirectly bugged me about when she'd be getting a ring, but little did she know I had it in mind as well. I knew what she liked from a Pinterest board we made where she would put rings she liked. Solitaire with an oval diamond. It didn't take much shopping to find "the one", and I knew it when I saw it. I got her father's blessing and clued the family in while preparing for a proposal. As Jenn said, I disguised it all in graduation pictures, so we were already dressed up. She had absolutely no idea. It was the most wonderful moment, and I can't wait for what's to come!
