Our Story

How It All Began It all started in June 2023, when Matthew and Jennifer crossed paths on a Christian dating app and instantly connected. From the very beginning, it was clear they had found something truly special. Even with three hours between them, Matthew never hesitated to make the drive to see Jennifer. In those first few months, they created countless memories and quickly became inseparable. A New Chapter In August 2023, Matthew shared his decision to join the military. Though Jennifer felt sadness knowing time apart was near, she chose to set her feelings aside and fully support him in this life-changing step. That October, Matthew left for Army basic training, carrying Jennifer close in his heart. During his in-processing stage, they shared a special FaceTime call—one where Matthew first introduced the idea of marriage. The moment left Jennifer surprised and hopeful, strengthening their bond even more. Distance & Devotion Separated by training, Matthew and Jennifer relied on handwritten letters and occasional Sunday calls. Though the distance was difficult, they placed their trust in the Lord, who gave them strength and patience as they waited for one another. Reunited In December 2023, Matthew returned home to Texas for holiday leave. His family welcomed him with joy, and in San Antonio, he and Jennifer were reunited after months apart. Their time together was filled with love and confirmation that waiting had been the best decision they could make. On a beautiful date, Matthew surprised Jennifer with her first ring—a promise ring—a symbol of their growing love and commitment. A Faithful Decision As their two weeks together came to an end, they once again prayed for wisdom. Both knew they wanted to spend their lives together, but with Matthew’s new schedule, staying connected would be difficult. With God’s blessing and peace in their hearts, they made the faithful decision to elope. On December 27, 2023, Matthew and Jennifer became husband and wife, celebrating their vows and cherishing the covenant they made before God. They later shared the joyful news with their families, knowing that with Christ at the center of their marriage, they could face anything together. Today What God has brought together, no man or force can destroy. On December 27, they will joyfully celebrate two years of marriage—thankful for the love, faith, and strength that continues to guide their journey. And now, they cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter with you!
