We're getting married!

We met on a free dating app, Coffee Meets Bagel. We hit it off pretty quickly and exchanged numbers, texting one another often (possibly daily). Due to misaligning schedules, it took until Jen's spring break the following month to finally go on their first date. Within this time period, we matched with one another on Bumble as well! From that point forward, we've been enjoying every second of adventuring together!

We had been planning our trip to a friend's cabin in Broken Bow for a few months, as a safe way to vacation during the pandemic. We had discussed getting married prior, so Jen was pretty much expecting it during this trip in particular (it was the first really special thing we had done in a year). Unfortunately, everything went wrong. Jen got sick from overexertion during a morning hike, we couldn't get a fire started for s'mores in the evening... it just wasn't in the cards. Kimball then decided the proposal would be better with the help of Jen's dog, Lacey. So we pick up Lacey from boarding, and she is utterly EXHAUSTED. We drop her off (and our bags) and head to dinner. Over dinner, Kimball shared a journal of memories he had been creating for months with Jen. We were both on the verge of tears at a few points. Fast forward to when we get home. Kimball pulls out a dog toy and attempts to get Lacey to take it. She wants nothing to do with it. At all. So Kimball ends up sliding it to Jen (who is now on the floor trying to help persuade Lacey into cooperating). She flips it over, reading "Jennifer, will you marry me?," to which she responds, "You know my answer already!". The ring is pulled out and Jen said a resounding YES!
