Our story started in December 2013 on a group scuba diving trip in the Dominican Republic. Half way through the vacation, sparks began to fly. Hoping to see where things might lead, Jennifer invited Kevin on a moonlight stroll along the beach. Not realizing that we were planning on a private stroll, the others in the diving party invited themselves & decided to join us! Eventually everyone caught on and it was just the two of us. Once we were alone, we realized we wanted to see more of each other when we returned to Chicago and we've been together ever since.

Family & friends are important to Jennifer & Kevn, so it's no surprise that Kevin would want to propose with Jennifer's family present. The challenge - getting Jennifer, the ring, and her beloved mother and sisters all in the same place at the same time. Step 1: getting the ring! Kevin found "the one" at a local jeweler in Chicago and discreetly had it sent directly to Kansas City in care of some good friends. Step 2: Kevin & Jen enjoy an amazing scuba trip to Bonaire and head to directly Kansas City to celebrate the holidays with Jennifer's family. Step 3: Kevin pops the question while at a family dinner by placing the ring in a glass of champagne and proposing during the toast. Jennifer took a few minutes to catch on (there's video to prove it), but she said "yes" and made it official.
