Free Entry! Lots of Walking so be prepared.
The Boathouse is tucked right in the middle of the beautiful Forest Park. The Boathouse has a small restaurant and patio, sometimes a live band, and you can pay to rent a paddle boat or canoe. The paddle boat does hold up to four individuals. Remember, however far out you go... you have to get back.
The area itself offers quite a few tucked away bars and restaurants; weekends get pretty busy so reservations to certain places are recommended. Please note... one block too far east, north, or south, could be an area we did not recommend...
Downtown St. Louis is where you can find the Arch grounds. You can take a tram-ride to the top of the Arch... I hope you are not claustrophobic. There is also a Museum in the bottom of the Arch. There is no fee for entry into the bottom; however, to ride to the top fees range from 20$-35$.
Ferris Wheel Ride at Union Station! Also has a mini putt-putt golf course and other adventures.
Saturday and Sunday mornings/afternoons the farmer's market in the downtown Soulard area has fresh fruits and veggies from local Missouri and Illinois farmers. The Market also has vendors from around the area who sell one of kind items.
If you happen to need anything from the mall, the Galleria Mall is the closest shopping mall to the area. While enroute you will pass and can see from the interstate, Target, Dierberg's Grocery, Chik-Fil-A, and there are other shops in that area, to include CVS just north of the mall.
TAKE EVERYTHING OUT OF YOUR POCKETS AND DRESS COMFORTABLE. The City Museum is a work of art, created for anyone who likes to have fun... and climb. Inside this building, everything you can hold onto is fair game. It's a one size fits most jungle gym! Great for family activities.
