HERE! We are attempting to think of and communicate all we can possibly anticipate, so please take your time reviewing the wedding website (Schedule, FAQs) and let us know if there is something we missed. Check back periodically, as we will be filling in details as they come together leading up to the day.
At our house! 1010 Princeton Street, Jefferson, MA. We will be transforming our yard and field into a wedding venue for our big day. We are about 20 minutes from Worcester, MA and 75 minutes from Boston without traffic. Why? We had the honor of building our forever home in 2019/2020 on a beautiful piece of property formerly grazed by Justin’s grandfather’s (Felix Sobol), dairy cows. We feel so blessed to be raising our own family here in our hometown, so close to both our families. Justin continues the Sobol tradition of haying the land each summer with his father, brother and uncle, selling to local horse and livestock owners — and the girls love the tractor rides. So much love has already graced this land, it only felt appropriate to further cement this place in our hearts and story.
Think ‘Summer Cocktail’ attire. We will be dressing up our yard and surrounding field in the middle of summer and hope you join in on the occasion! We want you to be comfortable, which will likely require variations on the traditional cocktail attire to account for the outdoors and weather forecast. A suit is preferable for men, while women should opt for a spin on a cocktail dress or formal jumpsuit. Justin’s take: Leave the tie at home and don’t be shy about shedding the jacket for dancing. Opt for breathable comfort. Jenn’s take: Swap heels for wedges or flats to navigate mixed surfaces as we navigate from grass/hay field to the dance floor. Opt for a dress that moves and breathes, favoring summery florals over floor length or satin gowns. Don’t forget something to take the edge off the evening chill, or deter the insistent mosquito.
Our hope is that Mother Nature cooperates and our guests are able to take in the beautiful views, a killer sunset, and stunning night sky we love about the slice of heaven we call home. If we get our way, we will be married in a field, have cocktails with a backdrop of the barn and dance the night away in a tent situated on our side lawn. Of course, we will plan for variations to this plan in the event of less than ideal weather and will post updates here as they come together.
Summers in Central Massachusetts are typically comfortably warm, although can swing either direction and dip down into the 60s in the evenings. Seasonal averages are highs in high 70s with evenings dipping into low-to-mid 60s to 80s. We are beyond thrilled to be sharing this day with those near and dear to us. As you can imagine, creating a wedding venue in your ‘yard’ is no small feat, and so we are doing our best to anticipate all that will be helpful to keep folks comfortable. The ‘sun’ plan includes providing ample shade, plenty of crisp refreshments and sunscreen. The ‘rain’ plan includes moving things undercover in a tent. We will do our best to moderate temperature extremes, however, would ask our guests to monitor the forecast and plan their dress accordingly. Lastly (and Jenn would argue most importantly) mosquitoes are inevitable. We will be doing everything we can leading up to and at the event to minimize the inconvenience, and would ask our guests to plan accordingly and feel free to add a layer or outfit modification so it doesn’t put a damper on the evening.
Formal invitations will be addressed to those invited. If a guest (or +1) is invited, the invitation recipient will include the phrase ‘and Guest’. If children are invited, the invitation recipients will include ‘and Family’. We hope all our friends and family know just how much we appreciate the love and support on this very special day. We would want nothing more than for all to be able to join; however, inevitably there are tradeoffs and accommodations we need to account for as we transform our yard into our wedding venue. For this reason, thank you in advance for understanding and respecting our (sometimes difficult) decisions.
In the spirit of capturing the essence of the happy couple as individuals, as well as a newly married couple, the menu will highlight their favorites throughout the afternoon and into the evening. Guests can expect their favorites of Italian and Greek fare, with Nora and Brooke inspired selections to keep it fun.
Guests with dietary restrictions (allergies only, please) should email Justin (jsobol30@gmail.com) with the specifics so we can ensure you are safe throughout the day.
