Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code is formal; black-tie optional. Suits and tuxes as well as gowns and cocktail dresses are welcome. Please dress appropriately for a church ceremony. St. Joan of Arc is a large stone church and can get chilly so bring a layer just in case!

I've never been to a Catholic Mass. What do I do?

Welcome and thank you so much for joining us! We are so glad to have you with us on this special day. A few things to know: We will have pamphlets at the entrance of the church with music, responses, and readings to follow along. There will be an opportunity to give a financial donation or offering during the church service. Donations go towards St. Joan of Arc. Nothing is expected but any gift is appreciated by the parish. Catholics have closed communion so only practicing Catholics in good standing will receive communion, however everyone is welcome to come forward for a blessing. If you are not prepared or able to partake in Communion you may stay in your seat or may come forward with your arms crossed over your chest to indicate that you will receive a blessing.
