Joe started working on the team at Jen's work that she would soon be leaving. His first two weeks were her last two weeks and on Jen's last day she invited Joe to her going away happy hour. They hit it off and hung out together for the remainder of the night on Mill Ave. This is where Joe asked Jen out on their first date.
April 8th 2016 was when they made their relationship official. This was only after two dates. I guess you know when you know, am I right? So April 8th is a special date for them and they are happy to be able to get married on the same date. This will be their six year anniversary.
Joe specifically selected this date because it was the first global palindrome in almost a thousand years. They started off that Sunday on a day date on Mill Ave. It was Superbowl Sunday so Jen didn't suspect anything. Joe walked her up to the Mill Ave bridge over Tempe Town Lake. Little did she know, a photographer was in place ready for the big moment. Joe got down on one knee and Jen immediately burst into tears...happy ones, of course. In case you were wondering, she said yes. Tempe is a special town for them because it is where everything started. The job they met at, where they shared their first kiss, the first home they purchased together, and now the place where he asked her to be his wife. Not only did he nail the proposal, he also had a bigger surprise waiting for Jen after. Joe, with some help from some very special people, put together a surprise engagement party with their closest friends and family. It was perfect and such a beautiful way to end the perfect day.
