Do I need a passport?

Yes! Please make sure that you have a valid passport. If your passport is expiring soon, it's important to renew it promptly to avoid travel disruptions, as many countries require passports to be valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date.

Do I need a REAL ID?

Answer

REAL ID is not required for international flights; U.S. passports are still needed. For international air travel, a REAL ID cannot be used in place of a passport. While REAL IDs are mandatory for domestic flights within the United States starting May 7, 2025, they are not accepted at international borders or for travel to other countries. If you do not have a REAL ID, you may be charged with a fee.
