What is the schedule for the evening?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will begin at 4:00 p.m. Please arrive 10-20 minutes early so that everyone is seated before the ceremony starts. Following the ceremony, we will have a social hour with hors d’oeuvres before the reception at 5:30 p.m.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, we plan to have the ceremony outdoors and the social hour and reception indoors. August in Michigan gets pretty steamy, so come prepared for the heat.

Is there parking available?

Answer

Yes, the venue has its own parking lot.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

If you would like to bring a plus one and that person does not show up as a guest when you RSVP, please contact the host. Depending on our numbers, we may or may not be able to accommodate additional plus ones.

Are babies/small children allowed?

Answer

Yes! We welcome your little ones. Just let the host know they’re coming and whether or not they need a seat.

Can I take pictures?

Answer

Yes! We will have our own photographer, but we also plan to create an album where you can share your own photos and videos. During the ceremony, we ask that you avoid taking photos in a disruptive manner—turn off the flash, keep the volume down, and don’t obstruct anyone’s view.

Are there any rules or guidelines I should be aware of at the venue?

Answer

Whispering Pines has a strict rule against bringing in your own food or alcoholic beverages. Rest assured, we will have plenty for you to eat!
