While the skiing is not for a couple more months or so (fingers crossed) you can still take the gondola to the top of Little Whiteface. On top you can see all of Lake Placid from the viewing deck. If its a clear day out, opposite of that, you can see Lake Champlain and into Vermont and New Hampshire. I grew up skiing on Whiteface and this place holds many memories for me.
Loved the view from the top of Little Whiteface? Or want to just go all the way to the top, you can drive to the top of Whiteface (yes I said drive). Once to the top you can take a short hike to the top or take the elevator to see the surrounding breathtaking views.
Do you remember the Miracle on Ice in 1980? Go to the museum to experience this event again. This small museum full of winter olympic history.
This place has the best happy hour in town! (Happy hour all day if you’re a guest of the Golden Arrow) Plus, Jennifer’s knows her way around their bar. Go in for wings and pint, the honey garlic sriracha are a favorite, or get a firetower pretzel.
