Search for the Jersey Devil

Search for the Jersey Devil

If you are not from the area, you may not know but back around 1775 Mrs. Leeds, a resident of the NJ Pine Barens , was distraught when she learned she was expecting for the thirteenth time. In disgust, she cried out, “Let it be the devil!” later she gave birth to the Jersey devil; a bipedal kangaroo-like or wyvern-like creature with a horse- or goat-like head, leathery bat-like wings, horns, small arms with clawed hands, legs with cloven hooves, and a forked or pointed tail. Many claim to have seen and been visited by the creature. Shockingly for as many sightings as there are, we have no clear photographs. So the quest continues there are organized hikes and tours available. If you decide to venture into the pine barres without a professional guide, be sure to ask the locals for advice. Many have told me they’ll make sure traveling monster hunters find the beast.

New York

New York, NY

There is way too much to do in NYC to list it all. 8 million people on a 5 mile island that is home to 339 neighborhoods. It is more than a day trip and a great way to spend a day. It is about an hour to the train station and about an hour on the train that drops you right in the middle of grand central station, and just below madison square garden. That will leave you about 10 blocks from Time Square. You probably know but there are theaters, museums, shopping and unique communities. Other transportation options include driving which will take between 2 and 6 hours depending on traffic, or the ferry from New Brunswick, NJ which also takes about 2 hours

For all the days along the way
