Jake and Jen met at American University in 2013. They were both living on the same floor of their building - Anderson 4 South. Although it was pretty much love at first sight, it took a while for Jake to ask Jen on a date. Once they started officially dating on February 10, 2014, they've pretty much been inseparable. Except for the fact that they've lived in 6 different cities since then, and only one of them is in common. Whilst Jen was pursuing her Master's degree in Edinburgh, Scotland, and after Jake returned home from deployment in Iraq, they took a trip to the Isle of Skye, and on March 10, 2019 Jake asked Jen to marry him. As they really like the number 10 apparently, they would be delighted for you to join them on their wedding day, October 10, 2020.

Jake came to visit Jen while she was completing her degree in Edinburgh. They took a trip to the Isle of Skye and went to dinner at a quaint spot in the middle of nowhere called the Three Chimneys. After dinner, Jake asked Jen to walk down to the loch, Loch Dunvegan. As their eyes adjusted, Jen saw a shooting star. She made a wish but of course didn't tell Jake what it was (in fear it wouldn't come true). But her wish was that he would hurry up and ask her to marry him. A few minutes later, she asked him what he would wish for, he put his arm around her with the ring in his hand and said, "My wish is that you'll say yes, will you marry me?"
