Jacob and Jenny met through mutual friends in October of 2015 at the University of Cincinnati (thanks to Israel Bravo and Ben Camburn!). Israel and Ben would hang out at the corner table in TUC (the University Center) which we have since named it "the table." Israel first brought Jacob to the table and soon after Ben brought Jenny to the table. We would meet at the table every day to play games between and after classes. One day, Jenny and Ben were working on a project together on Ben's laptop. While they were working on the laptop, Jacob messaged Ben asking if Jenny had a boyfriend. Jenny saw the message pop up on Ben's laptop, and even though Ben was going to reply "I don't know" to Jacob, Jenny made Ben change his reply to "No". But that's when she knew that Jacob liked her. They went on a few dates, and the rest is history!

The week before the proposal, we went to Daytona Beach. During the vacation, Jacob told me that we should go look at some more rings when we got back from vacation. Our 5 year anniversary was the Monday after the vacation, and because of Jacob's comment I did not believe that he had the ring yet. Jacob suggested that we should just go for a walk around the Voice of America lake and then go to dinner that was near the lake, which I thought was a good idea. On the walk, we walked to the boat ramp and I started getting out the tripod to take some pictures of us by the lake. As I was setting up the tripod, Jacob takes it out of my hands and puts it back in his pocket. I was confused, but then he took my hands and said "Jenny we have been dating for 5 years now. And I would love to spend the rest of my life with you." Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! After I started crying and said "Yeah" out of shock, he put the ring on my finger. Then we turned around and I saw Jacob's dad taking the video in a mask and hat disguise! I had not recognized him at all following us around the lake. After that we went to hibachi and Jacob set up this amazing dinner and surpised me with both of our parents joining us. It was the best day ever!
