Question

Why a Temple Marriage?

Answer

Dear Family and Friends, We want you to understand our commitment to marrying in a temple of God. We believe that family is central to God’s plan and that marriage is ordained of God.

Question

A Temple Marriage Sealing

Answer

In the temple, husband and wife are united forever. This marriage ceremony is called a “sealing” because we will be joined together for this life and beyond “until death do you part.” The authority to unite families forever is called the sealing power. It is the same power that Jesus gave to His Apostles during His ministry on earth. “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven” (Bible: Matthew 16:19; see also Matthew 18:18) When we are married in the temple, the person performing the marriage ceremony has been given permission to use the spiritual sealing power to bind on earth and in heaven, and is required to be licensed by the county to perform a marriage based on the laws of the land.

Question

A Temple Marriage is Sacred

Answer

We want you to know that, although those in attendance will be limited, it is not a secret. Instead it is a sacred time for us. It will be quiet, peaceful and reverent. As a bride and groom, we will kneel at an altar and hold hands in a beautiful sealing room similar to the picture above.

Question

Covenant with God

Answer

When we seal our marriage in the temple we will make a sacred covenant with God and with each other. In other words, we covenant to have God and our Savior Jesus Christ, be part of our marriage.

Question

Thank You

Answer

Our hearts are touched that many of you have been a part of our lives from birth, with friendships as far back as kindergarten. Thank you for your love, support, and respect for our marriage ceremony. We look forward to celebrating our marriage with you. Love, Jennifer & Jacob
