Due to the coronavirus we have regrettably canceled our wedding to all outside guests.

It was winter and I was dreaming of spring, which was still way off, when I came home one day from work to a new friend request on Facebook from a Jerry Platt. Now, I didn't know a Jerry Platt but I did know a Gerhardt Platt. I had gone to school with him and had only seen him here and there over the years since graduation. I sent a message asking if he was Gerhardt and he wrote me back saying it was and that he just started his Facebook account. He had thought of me and wanted to say hi. We hit it off and started talking via messenger. Summer was almost here and we still had not met up. He was living in Northern MO and I in Southern MO. We needed to meet up, I just felt it. I had to see where our friendship was going. We were talking every day now and he was becoming a person I wanted to know more. He finally came around and invited me away for the weekend, as friends, to meet his friends and family in OK. I was a little floored by the suddenness of a weekend away after not seeing each other in years but it sounded fun! We did indeed have a blast and we started spending every weekend together. We slowly built our relationship with just having fun getting to know each other and our children and making our times together special. It was hard being apart after awhile and we moved in together and made a life with our kids and pets. We decided to move to his home state of OK after a few years and bought ourselves a home. We just kept living life and having as much fun as we could together. It was while we were in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on summer vacation when he proposed. We were at Mackinac Island celebrating our 6th Anniversary when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I, of course, said yes! We decided to keep our Anniversary the same and will marry on our 7th year together. Who knew a simple friend request would be the start of this amazing adventure.
