A little bit of a Rom-Com! Sit back, grab a drink/snack, and read through our adventurous journey of how we met, how our friendship blossomed into a relationship, and soon to be husband and wife! Dave & Jenn first met at a Columbus Young Professionals (CYP) social event at a rooftop bar downtown called Goodale Station while he was recruiting for newly formed 614 Ski & Board. The topic of skiing is what initially sparked a conversation between the two exchanging phone numbers. They both went on a few dates together, but initially decided to just be friends. Dave & Jenn both remained friends through 614 Ski & Board. Dave asked Jenn to become an officer to help run the newly formed ski club. They rebranded the club Columbus Adventure Club (CAC) to communicate that the club did much more than just skiing. CAC hosts a monthly social at a local bar or restaurant and one monthly adventurous activity such as kayaking, hiking, and biking. Through these activities, the club allowed them to grow closer as friends over about a year. They both dipped back into the dating scene on dating apps and going to multiple Date Columbus Events together being each other “wing friends.” They both had a few dates with other people, but they never blossomed long term. The spark began after Dave got reassurance he needed on a ski trip to Holiday Valley in February 2024. They gave each other dating app profile feedback and then one day they realized “what are we doing?! We both have such similar interests, life outlooks, already always doing activities together - let’s give dating a shot again!” Dave proposed to Jenn at her family’s ski hill, Perfect North Slopes on December 27th, 2026 , and then took more formal engagement photos in the world-famous Happy Glades at Holiday Valley Ski Resort on New Year’s Day. They both first met at a place named Goodale Station Rooftop Bar conversing about an activity they both love and are now getting married at the Grand Event Center located off Goodale Boulevard – things have come full circle! We can’t wait to start our next chapter together and we’re so glad you are here for it!
