We're Getting Married!

We have a classic millennial meet story, what is not classic is the timing. We "met" in April 2020 through the dating app, Hinge. Our first date came later in May as a walk around downtown Toledo... which turned into a 3 hour tour. It being 2020, nothing was open to meet for a meal, so we had to be a bit creative. We we walked all around and down to Middlegrounds Metropark, beyond the high-level bridge. Three hours and two sunburns later, we finally said goodbye for the day. The rest is, as they say, history.

While engagement was something we talked about a lot, it was still a surprise in the perfect spot. Our (somewhat) annual trip to Pokagon gave us a new reason to celebrate and the upcoming nuptials. We went on a walk in the snow from the Potawatomi Inn to the spring house within Pokagon State Park. Once we got there, we noticed a tree had fallen since the last time we were there and had punched a hole in the roof of the spring house. This was the perfect cover to get me to turn around and then back to see Darryl on one knee, ring in hand, shaky as ever.
