FAQs

Question

Are Children Invited?

Answer

We love kids! However, we have chosen to keep the wedding an adults only event, with the exception of some immediate family. This has already been discussed with those family members who's children are invited.

Question

How Do I Get Home if I'm Not Staying at the Hotel?

Answer

You are welcome to drive yourself to and from the venue if you do not plan to drink, or you have a designated driver. Mainly we are providing the shuttle as a courtesy for those who wish to enjoy the Open Bar without being concerned about drinking and driving. If you/everyone in your group is planning on drinking, please plan to have a designated driver if you are not utilizing the shuttle bus to the hotel. You may be able to order an Uber or Lyft, but it may be expensive and the venue is located in a rural area. Fair Haven is about 30 minutes from Oswego. You also could arrange for a taxi to pick you up at the end of the night.

Question

Can I Park/Drive myself to the Venue?

Answer

Yes! There is a parking lot specifically for events at Colloca. You can drive yourself to and from the wedding if you wish. You can also drive yourself to the venue, and take the shuttle bus to the Hotel in case you are not able to drive. The car will be safe in Colloca's lot overnight.

Question

What Time is the Shuttle Leaving the Hotel to go to the Ceremony/Reception?

Answer

The shuttle buses are scheduled to leave the Hotel at 3:45 PM. Unfortunately rooms may not be ready for check in until 3:00PM. Please be sure to plan accordingly.

Question

What Time are the Shuttle Buses Departing to go from the Venue to the Hotel?

Answer

The first bus to return guests to the hotel will be at 9:15PM. The other two buses will be leaving at 10:30 PM. Please plan accordingly if you do not wish to stay until 9:15 PM or 10:30 PM.

Question

What are the Food Choices, Specifically?

Answer

With your RSVP card you should have selected either Chicken, Filet, or Vegetarian. The "Chicken" option is Chardonnay Chicken Piccata, with no capers. The "Filet" option is Filet Mignon of Beef with a cabernet reduction, and chimichurri sauce on the side. The "Vegetarian" option is a Portobello Mushroom Cap stuffed with vegetables and pine nuts. All dinners will be served with a Vineyard Salad with grapes, walnuts, and brie, creamy mashed potatoes, and green beans with almonds. On the RSVP card we have requested our guests advise of any Dietary restrictions. If you need a vegan, gluten free, or have any other allergies, please let us know.

Question

Are the Ceremony and Reception at the Same Place?

Answer

Yes, both are at Colloca Estate Winery. Weather permitting we will be having the ceremony on the grounds, and the reception inside the Event Center.

Question

What is the Attire?

Answer

Cocktail Attire. What does this mean, specifically? For men, a suit and tie is standard. No tuxedos necessary. For women, its a little harder to define. The standard would be a knee length dress or pant suit, depending on your style. Rule of thumb, something you would wear to a very fancy restaurant. No ball gowns necessary.

Question

Is There a Cocktail Hour?

Answer

Yes, the cocktail hour will begin immediately after the ceremony.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony to post on social media?

Answer

We ask you to please not take any photos during the ceremony. We have hired an excellent photographer and plan to have her take all photos during the ceremony.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please send your RSVP card by August 8th. Please provide a response, even if you are not planning to attend.

Question

Can I Bring a Guest?

Answer

This depends on how your envelope was addressed. For example, if the envelope was addressed "Mr. John Smith and Guest" then you may bring a guest. If the envelope said "Mr. John Smith" then please refrain from bringing a guest. Please reach out to the Bride or Groom if you are still unsure of the addressing.
