What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code is Garden Party Attire. Think light colored dress shirt and tie, semi-formal dresses, floral prints, and fun hats and fascinators! The ceremony and reception will be held outside so you’ll want to wear comfortable sandals or flats.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Lancaster Arts Hotel on Harrisburg Avenue. Make a reservation by May 7 and mention the McFarlane-Smoker wedding block for a discount. There are also many Airbnb’s and vacation homes in the heart of Lancaster’s Amish County - Bird-in-Hand, Gordonville, and Strasburg are just a few of the towns. If you prefer to be within walking distance of restaurants and coffee shops, an Airbnb or hotel in Downtown Lancaster is a great option!

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is a grass parking lot located directly across from the River Drive Entrance. If the location is changed due to weather the backup venue is location in Lancaster City and will require street parking or a parking garage.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We do not have specific transportation lined up but you can always contact a family member or use Uber or Lyft!
