FAQs

If you have any additional questions, please reach out to Jen or Tony!
Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony at the church?

Answer

The ceremony will be located at Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church in Chicago. The ceremony will begin promptly at 2PM, so we recommend arriving between 1:30PM - 1:45PM.

Question

If I'm not attending the ceremony, when should I arrive at the reception venue?

Answer

We recognize that our wedding is on a Friday, so not everyone will be able to attend our chuch ceremony. Our reception will be at the Abbington Distinctive Banquets in Glen Ellyn, IL. Cocktail hour starts at 6:30 PM, so we recommend arriving around that time to take full advantage of the entire cocktail hour.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, please come to the ceremony and/or reception in formal or semi-formal attire. We know you will all show up looking fabulous! :)

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please only bring a date if your guest is addressed on your wedding invitation.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We love your kids, but this is an adult only ceremony/reception with the exception of the children participating in the ceremony.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by July 17th.

Question

Can I RSVP online or do I have to mail in an RSVP card?

Answer

We invite you to RSVP on our website under the 'RSVP' tab.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

You can find our full registry on the 'Registry' tab of our website. We're also officially registered at Crate & Barrel and Target.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

For out of town guests or those who want to stay at the hotel, we have reserved a room block at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton in Downers Grove. Shuttle service will be provided from the hotel to the venue. We have addition hotels listed on the 'Travel' tab.

Question

Am I allowed to take photos at your ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that you keep our church ceremony "unplugged" and refrain from taking any photos or videos. We want our guests to truly be in the moment with us during this special day. Plus, the professional we paid a lot of money for has it covered. :) Feel free to take as many photos as you'd like once it's time to party at the reception!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions so we can let the venue know.

Question

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

Answer

We'll be serving hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a sit down plated dinner. There will be options available for those with dietary restrictions (e.g., vegan, gluten-free).

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

You will be attending a wedding reception for a couple that has Polish, Irish, German, Mexican, and Puerto Rican roots. So, yes, there will absolutely be an open bar.

Question

What should I do after the church ceremony and before the reception?

Answer

Yes, we recognize there's a gap of a few hours between the end of the ceremony and the start of cocktail hour. This time will allow us to take photos with our wedding party at an off-site location. Feel free to use this time as you wish -- go back to the hotel to freshen up, stop at a local bar/cafe, explore the nearby 'burbs...just make it back on time to celebrate with us!
