The morning Vietnamese tea ceremony will be taking place at the Bride's parents home in Orillia. The Western ceremony and reception will take place at Waterstone Estate and Farms in Newmarket. Please refer to "Venues" section of our website.
The tea ceremony will take place indoor and outdoor. The Groom's procession will walk to the Bride's parents house. Friends and family of the groom are welcome to join him in the ceremonial procession to the Bride's parent's home. The ceremonial pouring of tea will take place indoors with lunch seating indoor and outdoors if weather is permitting. The Western ceremony will be held in the Heritage Barn, cocktail hour will take place outdoors if weather is permitting. Dinner and dancing will be held indoors in the Hunt Clubhouse.
While the Bride, Groom, wedding party and many of the Bride's female family members will be wearing traditional Vietnamese ao dai it is not a requirement. If you would like to embrace Vietnamese culture and wear a traditional ao dai, they can be purchased on Etsy or request more information from the bride on where to purchase one in the GTA. Female guests are encouraged to wear semi-formal attire and male guests are encouraged to wear suits.
Formal attire is encouraged for both ceremony and reception. It is a summer August wedding so pastel, bright colors and floral prints are acceptable. Should a female guest choose to wear a dress longer hemlines are encouraged. Male guests are asked to wear suit and tie. Tuxedos are not required.
Please refer to the "Schedule" section of our wedding website for a detailed timeline. The Vietnamese Tea Ceremony will start at 9:30am at the Bride's parents' home in Orillia. The Western Ceremony will start at 4:00pm in the Heritage Barn of Waterstone Estate.
Please know that your love and company are the only gifts we would ask for on our special day and gifts are not expected. We will not be registering for a formal registry as we have lived together for 3 years now and have everything we could need. In Vietnamese culture lucky red envelopes with money are given to the couple at the tea ceremony or reception but again are not expected. If you really insist upon getting us something a contribution to our honeymoon fund with cash donations on the wedding day would be greatly appreciated. We would love to plan a trip to Mexico or Hawaii after the wedding.
There will be limited street parking at the Bride's parent's home in Orillia. Guests may have to park on a close by street and walk to the home. Waterstone Estate will have ample parking for guests. Guests are encouraged to leave their vehicles overnight and shuttle service will be provided back to the Fairfield Inn Hotel.
We would love to have your kids attend our wedding however Waterstone Estate has limited capacity. Please reach out to the Bride at (306)201-6072 if you would like to bring your children. If we do not have the space to accommodate your children we greatly apologize as priority will be given to immediate family and the wedding party.
