Carlsbad Caverns National Park
About a 40 minute drive from Carlsbad, and well worth it if you’ve never been. If you’re venturing to the caves, be prepared to walk., the full adventure is about 3 miles. Dress warm for cave exploration! You can also catch a bat flight at dusk or dawn, which is super neat.
Lake Carlsbad
Go down to the “beach” and enjoy the river and playgrounds. Great place for picnics or just a nice walk with the family. Don’t forget to feed the ducks!
